Mealtimes should be joyful, not stressful. Our Beyond the Bite program provides comprehensive, interdisciplinary feeding therapy for children with selective eating, sensory-based feeding challenges, swallowing difficulties, and complex feeding needs — helping families reclaim the table.
About Beyond the Bite
Beyond the Bite is The LEEAP Center's comprehensive feeding program — designed for children whose relationship with food goes beyond typical childhood pickiness. Whether your child has sensory-based aversions, oral motor challenges, swallowing difficulties, or extreme food restriction, our interdisciplinary team is here to help.
We know that feeding challenges affect the whole family. The stress of mealtimes, the worry about nutrition, the isolation of not being able to eat with others — it's exhausting. Beyond the Bite is built to support not just the child, but the entire family system.
Our approach is always positive, pressure-free, and child-led — because we know that pressure makes feeding harder, not easier. We meet children where they are and build from there, one bite at a time.
Interdisciplinary Team
SLPs, OTs, and behavioral specialists work together for children with complex, multi-component feeding challenges.
Sensory-Informed Practice
We understand the sensory roots of feeding difficulties and use evidence-based sensory approaches to support food tolerance.
Pressure-Free Philosophy
All Beyond the Bite therapy is positive and pressure-free — because we know that pressure makes feeding harder, not easier.
Family-Centered Support
We coach families in mealtime strategies and provide the tools to make home mealtimes calmer and more successful.
Program Areas
From evaluation to interdisciplinary clinic, Beyond the Bite addresses every dimension of feeding — oral motor, sensory, behavioral, and medical.
A comprehensive feeding evaluation is the foundation of effective feeding therapy. Our Beyond the Bite team conducts thorough assessments of oral motor function, sensory processing, swallowing safety, food repertoire, mealtime behavior, and family dynamics. We look at the whole child — and the whole mealtime — to understand what's really happening and why.
